Students biz plans compete
Six unique business ideas that ranged from organic food to alternative energy competed with one another in front of judges Friday during a contest at Truckee Meadows Community College.

The TMCC, TMCC High School and SilverSky Business Plan Competition is in its second year. It was designed to help local students turn their entrepreneurial ideas into business plans. SilverSky Group LLC, an intellectual property and business development company, puts on the event.
The top-finishing Kuzook team advances to the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup Business Plan Competition this spring.
That competition consists of teams of students from eight colleges and universities who compete for cash prizes totaling $200,000. Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology sponsors the Governor’s Cup.
“We hope to learn how to present it to people and get real funding,” Dini said.
Kuzook is a market research company that conducts surveys.
Other competitors were Power Development Technology, Solar Hydrogen Energy Future, BioGrounds, Monterey Jack Design and Dragonfly Natural Foods.
